UN ACTIVITIES THROUGH THE PRISM OF FEMINIST THEORY OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Abstract

The theses present an analysis of the activities of the United Nations from the standpoint of the feminist theory of international relations (liberal, radical and postmodern theories), considering how the UN implements gender equality in international politics and security architecture, as well as how effective these efforts are in transforming the global system of international relations. As a result of the study, it was found that the activities of the UN in the field of gender equality reflect the key postulates of feminist theory through the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace, Security”, the creation of the “UN-Women” structure, the introduction of a gender perspective in peacekeeping missions, and the holding of world conferences on the status of women. The importance of the HeForShe initiative, which embodies the struggle for gender equality and the involvement of representatives of "third world" countries in the global agenda, was revealed.
