SPORTS JOURNALISM: COVERING THE DEVELOPMENT OF FOOTBALL IN MYKOLAIV

Abstract

The theses explore the importance of football as an important factor in social cohesion, physical development of youth, and the formation of a positive image of the city of Mykolaiv. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the current state of infrastructure, support for children and youth sports schools, as well as the role of the Mykolaiv football club in supporting local identity. The authors note that the development of football in the region is not only a matter of sports policy, but also a strategic direction for cultural development and community integration. The challenges facing the industry are separately considered: insufficient funding, lack of qualified coaches, lack of a systematic approach to popularizing football among youth. Specific steps are proposed to improve the situation - the creation of a municipal football development program, involving business in financing sports, organizing regular tournaments, and supporting amateur teams. In this context, sports journalism plays a key role in covering current challenges, achievements, and prospects for the development of football, shaping public opinion and fostering greater interest in the city’s sporting life. The development of football can positively affect the social atmosphere in the city and contribute to its sustainable development.
