Abstract

These theses offer a theoretical and methodological analysis of how, within the contemporary global information space, the positive outcomes of information usage are accompanied by emerging challenges related to cyberspace security and the dissemination of information via internet networks. The global nature of this space facilitates a shift from knowledge to information (as a broader set of data that often surrounds, than constitutes, true knowledge). In this context, particularly under conditions of war, the issue of the reliability and credibility of sociological knowledge and the discipline of sociology as a whole becomes increasingly salient.
