Abstract

The thesis presents a theoretical and methodological analysis of the psychological adaptation process of adult refugees to new living conditions abroad. The study emphasizes that adaptation is a multifaceted and dynamic process involving emotional, cognitive, and behavioral dimensions. It largely depends on individual personality traits, the level of support from the host society, and access to social, cultural, and professional resources. It is highlighted that successful psychological adaptation promotes the integration of refugees into the new environment, reduces stress levels, improves quality of life, and fosters the development of a positive outlook. Key factors in adaptation include social support, intercultural competence, the ability for self-reflection, and the presence of psychological coping mechanisms.
