THE INFLUENCE OF FAMILY COMPOSITION ON SELF-ESTEEM AND ANXIETY OF YOUNGER SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN: RESULTS OF EMPIRICAL RESEARCH

The thesis presents the results of an empirical study of the influence of family composition on the level of anxiety and self-esteem of younger school-age children. The study involved 40 children aged 7–10 years, divided into two groups: from complete and single-parent families. Three psychodiagnostic methods were used to collect data: the projective method “Family Drawing”, “Methodology for studying the emotional level of self-esteem” (A.V. Zakharova) and the questionnaire “Analysis of Family Anxiety (AST)”. The analysis of the results was carried out using quantitative comparison and Student’s t-test for independent samples. Attention is focused on the features of the emotional perception of the family environment, the level of anxiety and self-esteem in children depending on the type of family. The obtained data are presented in the form of histograms and tables, which provides visualization of the distribution of indicators in the studied groups.
