Abstract

The theses highlight the specific features of the development of inclusive tourism as a tool for social adaptation and integration of people with disabilities in the context of the modern globalized society. Inclusive tourism is considered an important area for implementing human rights to free movement, leisure, and cultural engagement. It is emphasized that, in the context of Ukraine’s European integration ambitions, the implementation of European standards in the field of accessible tourism services is becoming a pressing issue at the national level. The paper outlines the historical evolution of the concept of an accessible environment, defines its key principles, and reveals its role in ensuring equal participation of all citizens in tourism activities. The international experience of organizing inclusive tourism in the countries of the European Union and North America is analyzed, with a focus on best practices in infrastructure adaptation, digital inclusion, and specialized tourist services. Particular attention is paid to the current state of inclusive tourism in Ukraine, where this field is still at a formative stage. The main barriers hindering the development of inclusive tourism in Ukraine are identified, including legal, institutional, informational, and physical obstacles. The prospects for implementing international practices and adapting global experience to Ukrainian realities with the aim of creating a barrier-free tourism environment are summarized.
