Abstract

This paper provides a theoretical and methodological analysis of the psychological mechanisms of dependent behavior of victims of domestic violence towards the offender. Addiction is considered a complex psychological phenomenon that arises as a result of prolonged violence, stress, constant control and traumatic relationships that deform the self-esteem and self-identity of the individual. The role of the phenomenon of learned helplessness, protective mechanisms of the psyche and sociocultural factors that deepen addiction is outlined. The contribution of Ukrainian and foreign researchers to the study of the problem is analyzed, in particular, the need for an interdisciplinary approach to understanding and overcoming this phenomenon in the conditions of modern Ukraine is emphasized.
