ELECTRONIC VOTING IN LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES

Abstract

The materials present an analysis of the experience of implementing electronic voting (e-voting) in Latin American countries, where a wide range of approaches can be observed - from the full implementation of direct recording electronic systems (DRE) to hybrid solutions with paper verification or Internet voting for citizens living abroad. The examples of Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and other countries are considered, outlining their achievements and challenges related to voter trust, cybersecurity, and legal regulation of the process. It is emphasized that the effectiveness of introducing electronic voting depends on technological readiness, the transparency of electoral procedures, and institutional trust. It is noted that Ukraine can draw on the Latin American experience to gradually implement secure and transparent digital voting technologies in the post-war period.
