Abstract

This theses presents a theoretical analysis of the concepts of tolerance and political correctness as components of the categorical framework of the humanities. The content of these categories as well as their common and distinguishing features are identified; furthermore, their significance for the formation of a humanistic type of social relations and a democratic culture of communication is revealed. Particular attention is paid to the functional connection between tolerance and political correctness in the spheres of public administration, political communication, and education. It is demonstrated that the categories of tolerance and political correctness reflect the moral and communicative foundations of a democratic society. It is argued that tolerance serves as a value-based guideline and the foundation of an internal culture of respect for diversity. Political correctness, meanwhile, is presented as a practical tool for realizing democratic values and an external, practical form of expressing tolerance. It is noted that within the conceptual framework of the humanities, these concepts are interdisciplinary and perform an integrative function among philosophy, sociology, political science, ethics, and public administration. The conclusion emphasizes the necessity of integrating these concepts into contemporary scientific discourse as fundamental value orientations for the development of civil society. Their implementation in Ukraine across all spheres of public life is presented as a crucial condition for European integration and for the building of a responsible, open, and inclusive state.
