Abstract

The theses provide a theoretical understanding of the media competence of public administration representatives in the context of the digitalization of society and the transformation of management processes. The essence of the concept of "media competence" as an integrative characteristic of a person is revealed, which includes the ability to effectively work with information, critically evaluate it, use modern media technologies and carry out constructive communication in the information space. Interdisciplinary approaches to the study of media competence, its regulatory and legal support in Ukraine and international approaches to the development of media literacy are analyzed. The main professional functions of a modern manager related to digital communication, information security, crisis response and media content analytics are determined. The relevance of the development of media competence in the system of professional training and advanced training of public administration representatives is substantiated. It is emphasized that media competence is an important component of the professional competence of a modern manager and a factor in ensuring openness, transparency and efficiency of interaction between government and society.
