The theses present a theoretical and methodological analysis of the issue of fake news in the modern information space of Ukraine and the methods of countering fake news in Ukrainian media under conditions of informational pressure and hybrid warfare. Disinformation is examined as a key threat to the state’s information security, causing social destabilization, undermining trust in official sources, and intensifying panic sentiments. The paper analyzes effective countermeasures, including the development of media literacy, dissemination of educational initiatives, implementation of fact-checking practices, digital technologies for information verification, and the creation of specialized state institutions. It is emphasized that critical thinking, cross-sectoral cooperation, and access to reliable sources of information are the foundation for forming a sustainable and responsible information environment. The role of the state, the journalistic community, and civil society organizations in implementing strategies for information protection and democratic control over the media space is defined.
