TRUMP’S FOREIGN POLICY 2.0: ELECTION PROMISES AND THE REALITY IF THE FIRST 100 DAYS

Abstract

The publication analyzes the key initiatives undertaken during the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s administration. In particular, it examines the decision to reduce military aid to Ukraine, the ultimatum-style demands toward NATO allies, the withdrawal from multilateral formats, and the normalization of relations with Syria. It highlights how Trump’s policy, grounded in the slogan «America First,» is implemented through the rejection of liberal internationalism, pressure on allies, and a drive toward isolationist dominance. Special attention is paid to changes in approaches to transatlantic security, the erosion of trust in multilateral mechanisms, and the expansion of bilateral diplomacy. The paper also considers trade policy toward China, the development of relations with Middle Eastern countries, and domestic initiatives in immigration and governance. It concludes that the United States is undergoing a profound transformation in both foreign and domestic policy, which, despite Trump’s relatively high level of consistency in fulfilling campaign promises, carries significant risks for international stability and for trust in the U.S. as a strategic partner.
