The abstract presents a comprehensive analysis of the role of cinematography as a powerful channel of political propaganda and mass communication in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Special attention is paid to the use of Ukrainian cinema in shaping national identity, countering hostile disinformation, and mobilizing international support following Russia’s full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022. It is emphasized that cinematography has become not only a tool for unifying Ukrainian society but also a platform for representing Ukraine as a country defending freedom, dignity, and universal human values. The study also examines the influence of documentary and feature films, such as «20 Days in Mariupol» and «Cyborgs», on the formation of a positive international image of Ukraine. Emphasis is placed on the role of digital platforms such as Takflix and Netflix in promoting Ukrainian content, which contributes to dismantling Russian propaganda narratives and engaging a global audience. The significance of cinema as an element of cultural diplomacy is underlined, as it strengthens Ukraine’s foreign policy agency and builds trust among international partners. The research also analyzes the challenges related to limited funding and competition with Russian content, as well as the prospects for the development of Ukrainian cinema as a strategic tool in the information war and in shaping the state’s image.
