INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS IN THE CONTEXT OF PSYCHOSOCIAL FACTOR ANALYSIS

Since the start of the military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine in 2014, and its large-scale escalation in 2022, Ukraine has seen a continuous increase in the number of internally displaced persons (IDPs). According to official information from the Ministry of Social Policy, the number of IDPs has now reached approximately 4.9 million people, which is about 15% of the country’s total population. This mass displacement is directly caused by the immediate threat to life due to constant rocket attacks, artillery shelling of residential areas, destruction of infrastructure, loss of homes, a feeling of uncertainty about the future, and fear for oneself and loved ones. This destructive impact of objective reality leads to an increase in social tension and a rise in psychological problems among the population. These issues include: chronic anxiety, emotional exhaustion, depressive and neurotic states, aggressive behaviors, deviant behaviors, both chemical (substance abuse) and non-chemical (addictive behaviors, gambling addiction, etc.)
