THE PROSPECT OF STUDYING THE PHENOMENON OF BASIC POLITICAL VALUES FOR MODERN UKRAINIAN POLITICAL SCIENCE

The paper explores the phenomenon of basic political values as a key factor in shaping political culture and the legitimacy of state institutions. The author emphasizes the importance of analyzing political values in the context of external aggression against Ukraine and hybrid warfare, particularly information and psychological operations (IPSO). Based on an interdisciplinary approach, the study analyzes theoretical models of values (M. Rokeach, S. Schwartz, R. Inglehart, S. Flanagan), introduces the concept of basic organizational values of society, and offers their typology (vertical/horizontal). The role of values in forecasting political behavior, public mobilization, countering IPSO, and shaping democratic narratives is specified. The need for further development of a national value paradigm as a tool for strengthening statehood is highlighted.
