THE ROLE OF CIVIL SOCIETY INSTITUTIONS IN COUNTERACTING VIOLATIONS OF CITIZENS’ VOTING RIGHTS

The theses analyze the activities of civil society institutions in the field of preventing violations of citizens’ electoral rights and strengthening electoral integrity in Ukraine. It is established that non-governmental organizations, think tanks, initiative groups, and independent media play a key role in monitoring electoral processes, documenting violations, informing the public, and shaping a societal demand for fair elections. The activities of such organizations as the Civil Network OPORA, the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, the Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law are mentioned, as well as international cooperation with the OSCE, the European Union, and the International Republican Institute. The main tools of influence are analyzed: civic observation, human rights advocacy, advocacy initiatives, awareness-raising campaigns, and the use of digital technologies. Key challenges are outlined, including legislative gaps, administrative pressure on activists, and lack of resources. The conclusion emphasizes the need to strengthen the institutional capacity of civil society as a guarantee of a democratic electoral process in Ukraine.
