INSTITUTIONAL PROBLEMS OF THE ACTIVITY OF ANTI-CORRUPTION BODIES: THE FACTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL TRUST

The theses examine the institutional problems of the functioning of anti-corruption bodies of Ukraine through the prism of public trust as a key factor in the effectiveness of anti-corruption policy. It is substantiated that institutional trust is an important resource for the legitimacy of the activities of anti-corruption institutions and determines the willingness of citizens to support anti-corruption reforms. It is established that the low level of trust in state institutions, political influence, insufficient coordination between bodies, delaying the judicial consideration of corruption cases and limited effectiveness of individual anti-corruption measures negatively affect the public perception of the anti-corruption system. Directions for increasing institutional trust are proposed by ensuring the independence of anti-corruption bodies, increasing the transparency of their activities, increasing the level of accountability and developing mechanisms of public control.
