Abstract

The article comprehensively examines the process of forming emotional intelligence in adolescence as one of the fundamental factors of harmonious personality development. The author analyzes how the physiological changes that accompany adolescence (in particular, hormonal changes and immaturity of the prefrontal cortex) cause emotional instability, increased sensitivity and difficulty in recognizing one's own feelings. Particular attention is paid to the psychological aspect of adolescent development, in particular, the formation of identity, the growing need for independence, social recognition, and emotional support. The article highlights the important role of the immediate social environment - family, school, peers - in the development of emotional self-awareness, self-regulation skills, empathy, and constructive interaction. The author emphasizes that it is through relationships with emotionally accessible adults that adolescents learn to understand themselves, express feelings without aggression, and show compassion for others
