Abstract

The theses present a theoretical and practical analysis of the relevance, feasibility, and prospects of using gamification as an innovative approach to optimizing the educational process and enhancing its effectiveness. The study is particularly based on the experience of teaching professional disciplines in the training of students majoring in 121 "Software Engineering" at Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University. The theoretical analysis is illustrated by a practical example of gamification implementation. The authors developed a computer game for practicing practical skills and assessing knowledge in the discipline "Algorithms and Data Structures." The thesis provides a detailed description of this game project, emphasizing the key elements aimed at improving the quality of educational content delivery and evaluating students’ academic achievements. The analysis results confirm the significant potential of gamification in increasing student engagement and motivation, as well as improving the assimilation of complex technical subjects. The proposed game project can serve as a model for the development of similar tools for other IT disciplines.
